Introduction

Welcome and thank you for taking the time to check out my blog. I’m starting this in hopes to get you interested and wanting to explore various places in the great state of Michigan. Some of these places will be very iconic to the state, while others will be hidden gems just waiting to be explored. It’s probably biased for me to say, being born and raised in Northern Michigan, Michigan has to be the most beautiful state in the country. From the five Great Lakes that hug the shores giving us some of the best fresh water beaches on the planet. To the dense forest where to bear, moose, deer and wolves, this is home. Michigan is also home to the iconic Mackinac Bridge. A five mile suspension bridge connecting the urban lower peninsula to the desolate upper peninsula. It spans across the straits of Mackinac, it’s light tan towers protruding over the water and green cables make for a very picturesque landscape. Crossing the bridge from the lower Peninsula to the upper is like taking a drive back in time. The U.P. as it is commonly known as is where the true beauty of this state can be found. No big cities, not a lot of people, just you and nature. This blog will spotlight various attractions from both Peninsulas from Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lake shore on the north west side of the lower peninsula, to the Soo locks located in Sault St. Marie. Thank you again for checking out my blog! The first stop on our journey will be a place very close to my heart. 10296479_10204361746507540_4669056194320167152_o
